Skate for the Heart

On Sale Now! Youtube and PBS Sensations "Straight No Chaser" & Olympic Champion Skaters Meet For A Night Of Heart Pumping Action On The Ice. "Skate For The Heart" Live At The Covelli Centre!

2010 Olympic Bronze Medalist Joannie Rochette, and 2006 Olympic Silver Medalist Sasha Cohen are just a few of the amazing skaters featured in Disson Skating's "Skate for the Heart," with live performances from You Tube and PBS A Cappella Sensation Straight No Chaser. Presented locally by Youngstown State University and The Mahoning Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau; the live show is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2010, at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, OH and is sponsored by the Phantoms Hockey Organization, the Ice Zone and WFMJ. The taped show will air on NBC on Sunday, January 16, 2011, from 4 - 6PM EST.

The Cast: Includes 2006 Olympic silver medalists Sasha Cohen and Tanith Belbin & Ben Agosto, 2010 Bronze Medalist Joannie Rochette, 2010 Olympic Silver Medalists Meryl Davis & Charlie White; and US National Champions Caydee Denney & Jeremy Barrett and 2007 US Silver Medalist Ryan Bradley. Hosted by Olympic Gold Medalist Peggy Fleming.

The Music: ATCO/ Atlantic recording group Straight No Chaser will perform eight of their hits live with the skaters including numbers from their new album "With a Twist". Founded at Indiana University in the fall of 1996, Straight No Chaser's goal was to expand the boundaries of the traditional college a cappella group. From the start, they viewed themselves more like a local band that just happened to use their voices as their instruments. As original member Randy Stine comments, "We take the music very seriously; we just don't take ourselves too seriously." In the process, they are reinventing the idea of a cappella on the modern pop landscape.

Tickets: Tickets for "Skate For the Heart" go on sale Friday March 19th at 10am and will be available online at Ticketmaster.com, our Retail Locations, including Giant Eagle and Macy's, or charge by phone at 800-745-3000 (Toll Free Express Line: 866-448-7849). Tickets are also available at the Covelli Centre Box Office. Tickets start at $36.50, $51.50, $69.50 and a limited number of On Ice tickets will be available for $89.50. Additional fees may be applicable.
